What is MOBI?

Maximizing Office Based Immunization (MOBI) is a free statewide provider immunization education and training program developed for health-care providers. This continuing education program, which trains practices in techniques to improve immunization rates in their practice, is offered through the Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (Ohio AAP), and funded by the Ohio Department of Health with technical assistance from the National Immunization Program, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.

MOBI Attendees also receive the latest information available on:
• Immunization recommendations
• New vaccines
• Childhood immunization schedule changes
• Missed opportunities
• Common misconceptions
• Practice-based consultation
• Immunization strategies for optimal practice

MOBI is a one-hour in-office continuing education program provided by trained vaccine experts. Target offices include pediatric and family medicine practices throughout Ohio. MOBI aims to raise immunization rates among Ohio’s children by teaching physicians and their entire staff evidence-based strategies to overcome barriers to immunization.

Ohio AAP annually trains more than 100 experts to conduct these in-office programs. These experts are experienced in immunization practice and bring the most up-to-date and practical information to their peers in office practice. More than 500 programs are conducted each year throughout Ohio, with more than 5,000 health care providers in attendance.
